Can't believe I was able to salvage my nephew's PSP 1000 for $25. They don't make them like that anymore! Watched the vids on Utube as recommended. Went pretty smooth. As one reviewer mentioned, no foam on the screen, so I carefully peeled it off the old one and it was amenable to being re-used :)
However, I dont' know if its the foam or what, but my nephew said the pointer (joypad, or whatever you call it) was not working right. I went over and re-assembled it a few times, it got a better but still the arrow floats to the lower right of the screen when in internet mode.
On the upside, the games must re-calibrate the joystick position when THEY start, because he called me the next day and said it works fine in Metal Gear. yay! So I still gave it 5 stars.Sony PSP LCD Screen Replacement/Backlight +FREE Shields
